Jadwiga RUBIŚ - "Iśka" (born 12 September 1948 in Kraków, died 11 April 2000) – photographer, journalist.
Fascinated with art she focused on artistic photography. She took part in VENUS I and II - International Exhibits of Artistic Act and Portrait Photography organised by the Photographers’ Association of Kraków in 1971 and 1972. She was involved in student’s photographic movement and co-operated with student magazines Politechnik and Itd. As a professional photographer she worked for the dailies Echo Krakowa (since 1973), Dziennik Polski and Gazeta Krakowska. Her works were published in the weekly magazine Przekrój and in monthly magazines among others in Twój Styl, Film and Sezon. She participated in numerous joint exhibitions but she also organised indivudial shows of her pictures in most famous clubs of Kraków like "Pod Jaszczurami", "Pod Gruszką" or in the premisses of the local unit of Polish Television in Kraków and in the “Dom Polonii” Gallery. Her exibitions "Solidarity '80 and '81" and the "Marshall Law in Kraków" were shown in Germany. She co-operated with Kraków’s muzeums, art galeries and theatres. While working for the daily newspapers she turned photography into a tool, which helped her express as a journalist. Her main goal was to picture all sphers of urban life, in particular cultural events – especially fine arts. She was the only one to provide comments to her own pictures among all photographers dealing with reportage. She graduated from the art history department at the Jagiellonian University. She completed post-graduate journalism studies at the University of Silesia.
